Rare options in Japan spotted

Is this the actual option from Honda? The brochure shows wood trim on the console trim and door trim, but not the vent/clock surround or the gauge cluster surround. But the vehicle shows the wood trim in all 4 places. There have been a lot of companies making stick-on wood trim over the years; could it be that?

Those are "interesting" paint/anodization options on the 94-2001 7-spoke rims as well. I've never even noticed a picture of those in the wild, and I would have assumed a DIY job if I had.

Yes I noticed that the gauge cluster surround had wood trim on the vehicle but not in the NSX custom order plan.

If you look closely at the trim especially around the aircon vent and ashtray cover, these are not stick ons but look like the actual parts had the wood grain as part of it. Also note how the wood trim goes all the way in around the sides of the ashtray and cigarette lighter so it's definitely not stick on. I think it's quite unlikely a third party would make complete replacement panels with wood trim for every piece.

You can see more info and translations on the custom order plan here https://www.nsxprime.com/threads/honda-nsx-custom-order-plan-brochure-from-japan.222032/

Depending on what / where the corner sensors are looking, it might have been a useful option for one or more of the previous owners of my car in terms of preventing scrubs on the passenger sider rear rim. An auto tilt down on the passenger side mirror would also have been a nice feature.

Fasinating - 18k - what year was that brochure? You could get a body color top with all those wheel colors? Did they follow thru with this in Japan?

The custom order brochure was from 1997 for the NA2 models.

I have quite a few rare NSX memorabilia from back in the day when I had my first 2 NSXs.

Here's a Mugen brochure:

JDM. Yes, I can take photos if you like.
Ah that makes sense. I'm pretty sure that was never offered in the US. I believe there were only 2 options in the US when the NSX was first introduced - a cellular phone and a CD changer. My '91 back in the day had both.

Are there any external differences like a circle where the sensors are, or are they hidden behind the bumper?

hmmm I wonder how the deer like em...;):p

The wooden panels are vinyl. Similar to the carbon style that they offered for the 92R.

One option that no one ever talks about, is the 02R Airbag version. Yes, NSX-R with airbags.

The custom emblem badges were quite popular back when we had plenty available a few years ago. Mostly Americans thought they were fake.

No, they're faux carbon. Behind is still plastic.

Anyone found the part numbers for the switch and the corner sensors? I have had a look but cannot see anything so far…
ChatGPT gave me a part number but I can't find any info on it. I assume the part was discontinued decades ago, and back then a lot of data was not available online hence not much info. Clicking on "Sources" did not help, none of the sources listed that part.

The corner sensor was sold as a set for each front and rear bumpers.
Therefore, the individual parts such as the sensor, switch, controller, loom, etc were not sold separately.

Discontinued but parts # as follows;
Front set: 08V66-SL0-001
Rear set: 08V67-SL0-000

The buzzer for the rear bumper is mounted next to the passenger side fuse box.
The one for the front bumper is mounted at the metal rack behind the dashboard at the auto door locking unit.

It starts buzzing intermittently around 50cm away from the object.
Then, once it gets to about 25cm away, it will turn into continuous tone.
