It's time to replace the tires on my 1992. Car is bone stock and I drive it non-agressively. I have waited for the Yoko A-022H front right tire for a month - and it's still on back order. My dealer suggested using the Yoko A-520 tires. Here are the Pros and Cons of using the A520's over the OEM Yokohama A022H tires:
Pros: 1) A520's are more readily available - therefore a fresher rubber compound? 2) The A520's are approximately 30% (front) and 50% (rear) cheaper than the A022H. 3) They last longer. 4) Since they are not the original OEM tires, Yokohama offers road hazard warranty (not offered on the A022).
Cons: 1) They were not specifically engineered for the NSX's alignment and suspension set up.
My questions is ... has any one used the A520's and what are your thoughts on them? (I know what NSXtasy will say - stick to the A022H!)
