yet another KW V3s versus Koni dampers/springs thread

Hi guys,
i know different variants of this question have been asked, but I was hoping to get input from people who have actually made the switch from Koni dampers/springs to Kw V3s..I have had my NSX for 6 years, and it came with Konis (yellows) and some eibach springs, and honestly have never been in another NSX, so have no other reference or comparison. So by default my NSX is both the most comfortable, best handling NSX i have been in, and also the worst...So I just wanted to know how big of a difference in terms of day to day comfort and handling at the track would switching to KW v3s be?

Would Kws be an improvement in both track and street driving, or not really? Anyway, any input or opinions for those with experience would be greatly appreciated. (and if anyone lives near san jose, CA and has some KWs on their car and cares to offer a ride, please let me know).

For reference, my car is mainly a track car now, but I do drive it about once a week to work, and the drives to thunderhill and laguna seca are a few hours, so daily comfort would be nice, but track handling I guess is more important at this point.

there are two different Koni/Eibach setups and they are on the opposite sides off the spectrum. Comptech Pro which are black dampers and the the comptech sport which are yellow dampers.

thanks for pointing this out..Mine are the koni yellows, so the comptech sport.I will edit my original post

I don't have first hand knowledge of the KWs, but the design of the damper is far superior to the Koni yellows. So it should be much smoother on the street. As well it is dual adjustable so you can adjust the rebound and compression (aka bump) seperately. The koni yellow adjusts both together. My experience is that stiff rebound is what gives the car a harsh ride on the street.

I think for the track even though.the Comptech Sport is better then the OEM, the KW will be better than the Comptech Sport. But then you are going to have to learn how to adjust the rebound and compression. Luckily, Billy has passed on his recommendations for as base setup for the KW. And he knows how to setup a car right.

i don't think Koni yellow ever had stiff ride even they were at the stiffest settings, they were pretty soft to begin with. Thus, it may not be adequate if you chose to pair them with stiffer springs.

KW V3 should be a nice upgrade before you jump in to the nicer, more track oriented setup.

just read your post again, as if your car is mainly track driven. Please do yourself a favor getting a set of koni 3012 (aka comptech pro.) Kid you not, all my friends who had chosen to listen to me instantly gain 2 seconds the moment they put this suspension on their car. In terms of handling and comfort, they are on the other planet. I have 2812 using comptech pro hardware and been extremely happy with it. Think of the stiffest suspension you ever been in any sort of car so you can feel the road and your chassis, however without the harsh, especially big dips and bumps.

General consense here believed the JRZ / Moton will be another step up. I'm still hoping someone local will put one on so I can have an impression.
