I just noticed the October Acura sales report, showing that NSX sales for the year to date are 212, compared with 151 last year. I don't recall anyone mentioning this significant increase before now.

Sales were averaging 20 cars per month for the first eight months of the year, then increased to 27 cars in both September and October - probably due to recent dealer discounting (possibly spurred by unpublicized incentives by Acura...?).

The mystery incentives must be unpublicized, the sellers on ebay & one semi-locally here are married to sticker. Apparently they like to look at the cars a long time.

I assume that there are unpublicized incentives because we know that dealers are selling new NSXs for less than the invoice price, even if you deduct their holdback. Dealers would be foolish to sell cars at a loss of thousands of dollars each. I'm not saying that there aren't ways in which Acura could make it up to them - e.g. increasing their allocation of MDXs - but selling cars at a loss is not exactly in their nature.

True, but sitting on a $90K sticker car with invoice of $80K and holdback of $2.6K that is now a year old in a bad economy with interest piling up on the loan that bought the car isn't making money either. Especially when 911s, Corvettes, M3s, Esperante's, XKRs, and Vipers cost the same or less.

I just heard of someone in VA who (reportedly) paid $125k for a new Viper. Sounds kinda steep to me. That seems wayyyy over sticker. Pohanka Acura, here in the DC suburbs, has sold 5 NSX's this year with only one (Imola Orange) remaining on the lot.

Any idea what those 4 went for & what they want for the 5th?
