XM radio face plate-how to remove paint?

It is likely an enamel based paint. Sand and repaint as Mr. Honda suggests is likely required.

If your intent is to remove the logo from an otherwise transparent piece of plastic I can relate that I used a 600 grit wet/dry sand paper, available at AutoZone to remove scratches on a tail light lens. To restore the transparency I used a scratch and swirl remover (Turtle Wax). You can't tell that anything ever was done to the tail light lens.

Good luck.
