There's a set of driving-lights/fog-lamps that I've found and happen to like for my '91 NSX. They are rather small & diminuative in size, hence my interest! (appox. 3/4" x 1 5/8" ovals)

I have convertd my low-beams to 6000K HID's, whiteNSX's kit to be exact. Relative to other HID kits, I'd say this kit is very similar to 5300K; light is extremely crisp white w/ a very subtle blue halo. Also, I've done the parking/turn-signal combo lights to hyper-white LED as per Malibu Rapper's recommendation.

So now I'd like a bulb for the fog-lamps that will match or be on par w/ the 6000K HID headlights and hyper-white LED bumper-lights. Bulb size is H3. What "xenon-like" hyper-white or ultra-white bulb brand/make would be recommended?

Thanks.

To truly match the 6000k HIDs you can do as I did. I also bought WhiteNSXs hid kit both for my low beams and H3 HID kit for my JDM foglights.

For now, want to go the "xenon-like" bulb route...

I would only use the PIAA line.

I was thinking that too, going w/ PIAA, Phillips, or someother premium, reknowned bulb manufacturer. I recall reading in another thread of someone who had PIAA bulbs for their front-bumper combo lights, and the color wasn't upto par w/ their HID's. :frown:

Regarding purchasing a H3 HID foglight setup, that would be the most logical way indeed to match current lowbeam HID's. I'm just not keen on spending another $300-400 for a lighting setup I don't really want need -or- want (HID fog-lamps would be overkill for me). Also, the driving-lights/fog-lamps that I was interested in aren't worth going the HID route, they are very simple and economical.

I was simply exploring the possibility that there might be some hyper-white or ultra-white bulbs in the market that are relatively close in the 'appearance' of the light they produce to the HID kit I have. There are literally 100's of brands of H3 "white" xenon-like bulbs, many are gimmicks while others are of quality. Some have too much of a blue-hue and others might be too polar-white.

Just wanted feedback of anyone who went the H3 "xenon-like" bulb route. I know on someother car forums, others have done this w/ success, but it was trial & error for most... which I want to avoid!

Thanks for the insights, so far! Very appreciative.

IPF makes a HIR bulb that is as close to HID as halogen goes.
About $50 a bulb.

Well if you want the light appearance to match, and do not care too much of actual light brightness/pattern, then the PIAA may not be your best choice. They are one of the best bulb for what they are, but do not match true HID color.
