Latest post 05/10/07:
I have recently acquired a new transmission, and it now looks like my old engine may be efficiently repaired. However, I am still interested in discussing a good low-milage (stock) engine that can be slipped into my 1991.
For mechanics and builders, my current transmission (is now available for about $1K) only needs 2nd gear syncros for normal use, or can be readily rebuilt with japanese racing gears for your hi-performance machines.
Thanks, Roger
