Wrong fuel injectors from NSX Modified?

Does anyone know whether Keihin sells any high flow fuel injectors. For those following my ugly supercharger story with NSX Modified, it just took another very bad turn for the worse. (The thread has been put under vendors under Forum).
At any rate, I pulled the supposedly new high flow injectors which I purchased directly from Larry. They look anything but new and even have debris in the filter. They are Keihin and stamped with the number 5018. They have all the apearance of a factory injector (same brand, color, and appearance as my original factory injector). Only difference is this part number. Can someone help me identify this 5018 injector and whether it came stock in any Honda or is a high flow injector?

I believe they are high flow injectors you have. I have some high flow 360 cc prelude sir injectors same make marked 50HP if it helps.dont know what the exact flow yours are.I suggest you contact rc injectors, they will know for positive
best regards David
ps I am truly sad about your SC issue.I have been following it on the forum but will refrain from comment as I dont believe it will help in any way.hope you get it squared away and email RC on the injectors.theirs a link on NSXBUILDERS site.

Do you have the regular or higher boost Comptech kit? The regular kit uses factory injectors and the Comptech kit uses the JDM Honda Prelude SiR injectors. It sounds like what you have is aftermarket injectors. I'd recommend starting with what Comptech uses in their kit to eliminate variables in getting your car up and running.

Best of luck.

I have the high boost Comptech kit. Is the Prelude injector you refer to manufactured by Keihin or are you saying JDM is the manufacturer. It would be nice if I somehow have the right flow injectors, but how can you can trust them if they are used anyway?

JDM is not a manufacturer per se. It's an abbreviation for Japanese Domestic Market/Manufacturer.

Esssentially, it means it's what Honda would use in Japan.

Hope this helps.

Perhaps as some consolation, after confirming with Comptech what capacity the injectors will flow in their high-boost kit, take all six of your injectors to a shop that can refurbish and test injectors.

Have them clean up and flow-test just one injector. If it "fails", stop the work and you are only out the labor for one injector. Unfortunately, this does mean that you will have to purchase six (new or refurbished) injectors. However, if the first injector passes then work can continue on the other five injectors.

I have seen resulting test reports of refurbished injectors and all six were within a few percent of each other. To me, that is as good as brand new.

I hope not to have stated the obvious, just offering a suggestion of how to arrive at high flow injectors at the least cost.

Best of luck in your ordeal.

Actually, Japan Domestic Market.

To clarify - it's what Honda uses on NSXs built to be sold in the Japanese market. Some JDM parts are different from parts on cars built to be sold in the U.S. market or other markets.

All NSXs are built in Japan, of course, regardless of which market they are built for.

Hi Rev Tuners had a trivia question on Sun.

What doe JDM stand for. The answer was Japan Direct Market.

I agree with NSXtasy I think its "Japan Domestic Market" as well.

Can anyone confirm.

Why split froghairs over what JDM means, when this post is about injector size?

Agreed Andy,

I thought I got pretty close with my definition.

Keihin also has a web site and contact info. Perhaps they can help decipher the number.

To give a few updates:
As for the injectors, Mark Basch identified them as JDM units as peole have suggested here, and fortunately, the one he himself uses with the high boost kits. To myself and my installer, the injectors look used-fuel deposits, discoloration on the tip, grunge, debris in the internal filter. In short, not quite what you expect after 30 seconds of operation. However, bofore I say here that another larger fraud has occurred, I plan to stop by a dealer for their pronouncemnet.
He also, suggested I have them flow tested.

After trying to fix my SC, Mark Basch recommended I find another used or new unit. I talked to Bob Lionti at Comptech who was extremely nice and said he would see if they had any used units as well as a coulple other parts I am short.

The last update is that the pulley was measured by Mark at 87.4 mm, far short of the 100 mm 6psi pulley or approx 95mm high boost pulley. He said that at that level, you can actually lose boost as well as running the SC considerably faster than it was designed. Of course, I had been told I was getting a high boost kit and no modifications had been mentioned. Its hard for me to disagree with his statement that i basically got a box of rocks.

Can anyone tell me how I can post a picture in a post to this forum. I have digital pics of the "new" injectors Larry installed with my SC unit. They make my 1991 injectors look absolutely brand new by comparison.
Thanks
