I think we all have heard the stories about the NSX reliability and Honda's goal of making the NSX an example of supercar reliability. I think this article definitely proves they have succeeded in that respect.
I have a friend who's NSX has already done something like 310000 km and which is still going strong. And that NSX has been taken to the track for five years in the European NSX-trophy, winning on quite a number of occassions.

Well, mine has just past the 74000 km mark, (after starting at 41000 May 2002) so at least I know that, with proper maintenance, I still can go a long way.

Not to quibble, but it's 310,686 miles.

500,000 km =

500,000 * (100,000 cm / km)
(2.54 cm / in) * (12 in / ft) * (5280 ft / mi)

= 310685.596118667 miles

OK,

Let's see......

I have 33K miles on my 1991 and I drive about 5K/year. So with 277K miles left, using Mark's car as a gauge, I have 55 years to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I am 47, I will be 102 and it will still be going!!!!!! Heck, I better get some more recreational miles on it, while I can still drive

I guess I will have done just a few timing belts (9 ) by then........LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, Honda should fly this guy to Japan for the next NSX fiesta and give him the plaque for high mileage. At NSX Fiestas, they always recognize high mileage NSX Owners during the event (although I think for original owners only). This guy could be highest on record.

Are you out there Mark Temple?

Rudeboy, your post says that you're in Toronto. I checked the Etobicoke listings and there's a Mark Temple at 416-626-0643. Would you mind giving him a call and either getting more details or asking him to post a reply with his experiences. I'm sure a lot of people would like to know more details about how much maintenance he had to do to get to 500,000 kms. Probably also his experiences with road salt as a suggestion was made that he also drives it in the winter.

500,000 km =

500,000 * (100 cm / km)
(2.54 cm / in) * (12 in / ft) * (5280 ft / mi)

= 310685.596118667 miles

But we should point out that there are 100 cm per metre, not per kilometre!
