Quick, someone invent something similar for the NSX for us track rats! :)

Necessity is the mother of invention.....what would it take to make a trunk lid with a cut out for the tires ?... weight savings for the car also...so there are many benifits.:D :D :D

I personally wouldnt do that but how else would you get those tires to the track?? unless you tow the car and tires with a truck....

No way, I wouldn't risk doing that. I would just hook up a hitch and trailer and tow it. Problem solved. ;)

Yikes:eek: Thats why it's nice to have freinds with trucks!

Isn't the thing on the back of the NSX trunk to tie-down luggage with??? HaHaHaHa
I think the trailer that "Tank" has on his NSX is the only hope for you track Rats!! :D

Ingenious!

girlfriends

that is what your girlfriend/wife/brothers are for... folks. bribe them into carrying your stuff in their car/suv/truck to the track for you. do not let your exotic take the brunt of your u-hauling.

It looks like he's got a specially designed bracket to hold the wheels. Neat.

I'd consider it...

I tink dat is pretty cool. Now there's someone who is not afraid to drive his Ferrari.
This LOOKS like a good idea, if it could be done on the NSX. I particularly like the way weight distribution is handled.

I've checked with the TireTail folks -- they target more "lightweight cars" -- those with smaller/lighter wheel/tire fitments. NSX-size setups, particularly upsized ones, are too large/heavy for them (trailer hitch tongue weight, etc).

Is there more info on a "hitch" fitment for NSXs ?? I saw pictures of one from the NSXPO galleries.

TireTail is a great idea. At the Hollywood Park AutoX someone had a track trailer behind their NSX, it was set up great. Either way it gets the track tires where you need them.

damage

i think there are chances for more damage than just some scratched paint if those bad boys shift or get loose and go flying while he is driving. Like other vehicles wrecking and damage to the ferrari body panels as well as to other vehicles who are trying to share the road. i would think there is far less potential for disaster if he were to use the proper equiptment... a small tire trailer perhaps.

I fully agree. Imagine the green in the lawyer's eyes when he sees the potential award of someone who got injured by the flying tires off a Ferrari 355!!

A little prudence here goes a long way - ie a proper tire trailer. Anyway, someone who can afford a 355 surely can afford to at least hire a taxi to help carry the tires to the track!!!
