Greets, anyone that is running the work equip rims 17, 18 are you happy with them and what are your specs for offset for both standard brakes and big brakes.also what tires are you running with them.any known issues with rubbing ect.
thanks in advance
David
ps I discussed buying some with Gerry Johnson but it got put on hold. I am ready to go again and want some other NSXERS consumer report

before I purchase

Due to the flat spoke design of the Equip, it may be difficult to fit the wheels with a big brake kit.

Offset will have no bearing on whether they will fit with a big brake or not - regardless of the offset, the caliper is always in the same relationship to the hub & spokes of the wheel; offset affects the relative position of the rim to the wheel's hub flange& spokes.
( see here - http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/TireWheel/wheeltech.htm )
Equip makes wheels specifically to order & I believe you can select a center hub/spoke that will indeed work with a big brake set-up. A std. Equip will not however so need to specify exactly requirement.

The offset will affect the ability of a wheel to clear a big brake kit. For example, let's take a use a 17x8.0 wheel for this example. We will always use the same width.

In the first diagram, you can see a wheel with a +45 offset that does not clear the caliper.

In the second example, you can see a wheel with the same spoke design, but a larger puck behind the spokes that creates an offset of +30. This wheel now clears the big brakes. This is the same effect of adding a 15mm spacer with this wheel.

In the third example, you can see how a different wheel, with the same offset, but a different spoke design will clear the big brake kit. This is why a wheel such as the flat spoked TE-37 has a more difficult time clearing big brake kits than say a ProDrive GC07C with it's curved spokes when the wheels have the same offset.

This explains why it is difficult to say for sure if a certain wheel will clear a big brake kit based on wheel width and offset.

Here's a nifty offset calculator: http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

OK, so by definition of offset (distance between the mounting surface of the wheel -which contacts the hub- and the center line of the wheel) then these wheels in your example have different offset; however, how often is this method used to vary the offset? Is it not more typical for the mounting hub & spokes to be constant in a wheel range? That is why "lip" size changes so dramatically for different offsets.
Unless the thicker hub flange is employed, then my argument in initial post is still valid - offset will make no difference to clearing brakes. I believe that Work accomodates the big brake option by your method 2 illustration (& maybe an adjustemnt to spoke design?), but if you just change the offset alone without specifying this, you will get wrong fit.
You should also note that you still need the same offset to get the proper location wrt the fender clearance, but when you go to a larger offset in your example 2, the lip will be much smaller.
I think we're both right, there's no universal answer for all wheel manufacturers.

Depends on a couple variables.

Modular wheels can retain the same face and puck while using wider inner or outer halves, affecting the offset. In this example, although offset changes, brake clearance is the same. Real world example is our Work Meister S2R for stock and wide body NSX. For wide body, the width stays the same, but we use a much lower offset to show "deep lip". However, brake clearance is the same in order to fit big brake kits.

Single piece wheels, such as the TE37 can have different spoke profiles varied on the offset they use.

Other wheels of the same width are manufactured from the same cast or forging with a very long puck. The puck is then machined down for the specific offset.

So, wheel offset does impact brake clearance, depending on design and manufacting process used.
