wiper fluid recommendation

Can somebody recommend a good brand of windshield wiper fluid for the reservoir? It started to sprinkle and I needed to clean the outside. It was bone dry.

The only thing I check for is that there is NO sediment or floating bits in the fluid before buying it.

I have had 2 bad experiences, one from floating bits and the other from negligence by the local dealership. The first time was when I put in some old/crappy washer fluid where the detergent had separated. The bits will clog the spray nozzles. The second time was when the dealership did not re-cap the washer reservoir after refilling it. The fluid would evaporate and the detergent would precipitate out into flakes and again clogged my nozzles. Cleaning the nozzles without the right tools can be a real pain in the butt...

By cleaning with the right tools I assume you're talking about something small enough to fit in the jet nozzles from the outside?

Also I'm considering using 20/10 washer fluid in the reservoir. Has anyone used this with good results?

Its a little more complicated than that. Grit can get stuck in the back (inside) of the nozzle assembly, so poking it will only cause it to move back down the hose. As soon as you spray, it will lodge in the nozzle again. In my case, I ended up pumping water backwards through the nozzle and lines to flush everything out. You will need to disassembly the plumbing since there are several check valves in the lines. Then I flushed the reservoir. Its been trouble free ever since. I just make damn sure that whatever fluid I put in there is absolutely free of sediment. I recall netviper saying the nozzles are like $30!

BTW, depending on what climate you live in, you may need to get fluid that is rated for low temperatures so it doesnt freeze. They will sometimes sell a "winter formula" that costs a little more. But out here it doesnt really matter.

Autophile said $28 a pair from Niello.

You can also pry them up and clean them from the back if the hose is clear - I need to do my driver's side one.
