WinXP sound problems

Don't know if this is a good forum to post computer probs but... Does anyone know how to set a higher default sound volume level in Windows XP Pro? I recently installed a TV card in my system then removed it after discovering I have no signal coming through my tv cable. Now I get barely a whisper coming out of my speakers. I suspect this to be the problem since everything worked fine before I did this. I've tried everything, removing and re-installing drivers, cranking up volume in Control Panel, speakers, everything. Still nothing audible(barely). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
