Wing Help! (Choices)

hey guys,

as you know; the widebody kit was completed about a few weeks ago. i have the downforce CF wing that will be ready to go on the car. the wing seen the photo's is my friend's Taitec wing (used for temporarily)... the downforce wing is very similar to the taitec one, except the downforce is a bit wider to accomidate the width of the widebody....

OR.... should i go with the lower; TYPE R style CF wing? i've noticed when driving around w/o the wing; more people seem to appreciate the 'exotic' nature of the nsx (ie: getting "is it a lamborghini comments") etc. but with a higher wing; it seems like more people simply dismiss the car as a "racer" or "import showcar" etc.... so i was possibly thinking of getting a CF type R wing and putting that on? what do you guys think?

I think on most nsxs the type r wing looks better but considering what you have done to the car it seems like the big wing goes better with the overall styling. Just choose whatever you think looks better who cares what other people think.

I agree with him.
Normally, I hate big wing but I think that wing looks good on your wild looking car :)
 
For me the Typr R CF is the one I would use. I really do not like the raised up wings (like the one in the picture) unless you are actually racing the car and routinely running at speeds above 100 requiring the added down force of the other wing. Even then, I wonder about the difference in down force between the two different types....
 
If you got the money get both since they are easy to install. But if you have to choose one make it the CF type-R wing. Have you tried to put back the original spoiler to see if it looks good or not with the bodykit.
 
I'd say the NSX-R wing or even a stock wing. The height of the wing in the pic makes the car seem less wide than it actually is. Think of how much wider the car would look without that extra height.
 
GT wing for sure.

Your car has JGTC taste in it.
In my opinion, your car has "GT race car" kind of looks, rather than "exotic car" kind of looks.

If you get whole bunch of 2 fast 2 furious stickers on your car and get APC aluminum GT wing, that would NOT look good.

but if you have carbon fiber GT wing with JGTC body, that's sooo awesome!!
 
well i have the DF wing on for now.... looks kind of too huge IMO. but i guess it works for the whole overall JGTC theme....

i hope to get my hands on either a REAL CF type R wing; or at the least the taitec CF wing.... seems like the dreamsports has a more flatter shape design.... any differences between the genuine TYPE R and the taitec version?

Exactly, why worry about what others think??? after all it's your car and your taste (or maybe you built on what people think how your car should look)
imo the car is very nice though.
 
well im not worried about what others think. but i also like to have suggestions made... sometimes opinions of others can help solidify or modify the ideas you've head. some of the greatest projects or inventions were created through collabration...

but having build about 3 show cars, help construct 3-4 other teammates cars, i think i can definetly make modifications decisions on my own. but i know that the people of prime tend to be very helpful as a majority, and its always good to hear and take into consideration feedbacks.. :D

I think the GT wing works better for the JGTC look. NSX R wheel may be too small.

I just bougth a Dreamzsport wing. I should have it by next week.

BTW Was your car red before? I remember those Blitz wheels on a red NSX driving in my community in Hacienda Heights.
 
Check the Gruppe-M wing that Chris (SOS) has on his car, it looks pretty good and it's a lot taller than the Taitec Wing, thus avoiding visibility problems with the wing when looking the rear via your rearview mirror.

BTW: Without the trunk lid spoiler all rear ends look funky when using big rear wings.

The Gruppe M would have been my choice had I not purchased the Route-KS wing with the Marga Hills decklid spoiler that is currently installed on my car.
