Greets All,
One of my windsheild washer nozzles is plugged with car wax and cleaning it out with a pin hasn't helped. I want to remove the nozzle assembly from the hood and try cleaning it from the other side (where the hose connects to it).

How do you remove the nozzle from the hood?

Thanks!

I changed my nozzles recently too. It is actually quite easy. The nozzles remove from the top side by using a flat head screwdriver and gently prying the nozzles up. Once you see the clips on a new nozzle, you'll see that it won't require much pressure to pry them off.

I think I went under the black pad. I just went slowly, and by doing that I didn't scratch the paint. You could wrap the screwdriver with a soft towel to avoid scratches too. Just be careful, and remember that the clips are plastic, one on each side of the nozzle, and they are not that hard to release with gentle prying.

Edit: When I did mine, I just bought a new pair from Niello for about $28 out the door (includes NSXCA discount). If yours have nicks or are hard to clean, you may just want to buy some new ones. Of course, my car is black, and they had them in stock. I'm not sure what the price/availability is with different colors.

If you remove the nozzles from the top, you won't need to pull the hoses from the bottom. But, if you want to clean the bottom hoses, just pull each hose off the plastic nipple that attaches to the nozzle seal. Poking a scribe in where the hose connects to the plastic nipple might help to break the seal.
