I was at Jones Acura in Lancaster PA today. They are my local dealer. I brought my car in because the vinyl is bubbling on the windshield pillar covers. Is this a common problem? They will cover it under warantee. Are they easy to change without having to take apart or damage other interior trim pieces? If it's easy i'll let them fix it. If it is complicated and a chance I may get the car back less than perfect I'd opt to let it go as it is.

Also, I noticed they have a 98 red NSX with 30K miles on the lot. I think they are asking about 53K. I took a quick look and the car seems in excellent condition. Very nice, no paintwork that I can see, not many chips. It belonged to one of the Jone's sons who had it since new, or so says the salesman. If anyone would want, I can arrange to take a close look at it, but I would ask that you call the dealership to set it up.

Best regards,

My 96 has those bubbles as well.

Come on Doc, that's because of "the blistering speed" that you drive around the track!!!!

I've got bubbles too. They're really annoying for about the first five seconds I notice them. When I'm out on the road, I never notice though. That said, I reallywould like to have that fixed, as it's about the only thing that makes my car look it's age.

Had them on my drivers side as well...bugged me so much I bought a new A-pillar cover. If I remember correctly it was $100ish bucks for a new one from Gunn Acura. Not a big deal. Took 5 minutes to swap out.

P.S. The Acura Leged I just bought has similiar bubbling on the roof liner as well.

My 1998 has bubbles as well. My original theory was it was only black cars. I came up with that after seeing DocJohn's black car this summer. I thought maybe it was the high surface temperatures of the black paint causing a heat build up in the pilar. I guess I was wrong.

I just tried to take a picture of it, however they were gone. It seems like they only appear in hot weather, and my car has been in the garage for 3 days (very cool in there:))

My 1990 CRX had the same type of bubbles on the headliner just after 2 years.

In regard to the first post. Is that NSX still available at Jones Acura? is it on the lot or in the showroom. If anyone knows.

thanks.

I first noticed this issue when I drove from the CA bay area to the Grand Canyon soon after I first bought my NSX two years ago. It seemed the bubbles started as I gained altitude. When I returned to a lower elevation they pretty much disappeared, but not completely. Interesting to see that others have the same problem. Probably a "manufacturing defect".

With mine, the bubbles are more pronounced when the interior is hot and barely noticable when it is cold. I'm afraid that the new ones will begin to bubble also, but I noticed that the red car they had for sale, which was sitting in the sun was bubble free so they must not all do it.
