ok ,i checked the FAQs and there was some info but i gotta know. has anyone ever tried to put a NEW cable in their window lifter? i have the newer style but the yahoo who had the car before me put some funky amp-thingy in the door with the new speakers. in doing so he(or she!) ran long screws to hold it in. one of them was rubbing on the cable. now it's really frayed, won't go up or down and is holding by ONE strand. i've got plenty of mechanical know how i just wonder if someone tried this and any quick tips...thanks

I'd be amazed if you could pull it off. I fixed mine with a new regulator then took a look at the one that was broken. The wire is as tight as a piano wire and when it lets go the wrapping in the motor part of the regulator gets all messed up. I even opened up the motor part and it's full of springs that let go when you open it. The best bet is to join the NSX club of america and use the discount at one of the dealers to buy a new regulator assembly - it's about $350 and installation is very easy
