I am trading my car in on a 4x4 of some sort and I know the dealer is going to rip me off. I have a expensive stereo in the car and I was wondering if I hook the original radio back up if it will work since the amps in the doors have been removed. Thanx in advance, jim

.... will an aftermarket amp work with a stock radio
Yes, but you're going to have to make up a harness with RCA jacks to adapt the O/P's of the head unit to take a std. RCA cable to run to the amp.
If you search through the stereo/multimedia forum you will find information on how to do this (as well as the answers to the questions you've already asked!)
Has your console been modified for the new head unit? If so, then the OEM head is not going to fit back in there without replacing the console. You may be better off just buying lower end replacement equipment than your current set-up - should be a lot easier to hook up.
Recognize that an after-market stereo install, even if done well, will probably detract from your trade-in value. If at all possible, unless selling to an individual who appreciates the conversion, you would be best to have it back to stock - that includes the speaker/amps as well as the OEM head unit & centre console

the original stereo was never taken out, the previous owner installed one in the glove box with the amp and cd changer in the trunk. For some reason they removed the speaker amps instead of bypassing them.
