Will the 02+ exhaust tips fits in the 92?

I'm doing the 02 rear valance conversion...but my '92 oem exhaust tips are too big (oval tips), can i replace them with 02+ tips? has anyone done it before? i called the dealer and the parts guy told me that both the 92 and 02 tips are bolt on and can be easily replaced but not sure if they are interchangeable.
