Will removing the engine cover harm anything?

I was wondering if the heat would be so great that it could damage the windows. I want to get that Ferrari look, but I dont want to damage the car. Thanks

Removing the engine cover is one of the best free "mod" you can get and it gives your NSX a much more exotic look, but now I'm getting tired of all the attention from removing it.
People stand right beside my car and touch my rear window just to take a better view of my engine, that drives me insane so I might put back the engine cover in the near future.

If you're worried about the hoses, you could get a hose kit relatively cheap. It'll make the engine look great and they are resistant to sun damage.

Paul,
I like that brace/strut bar over your engine. Is that all one piece or is the strut bar separate from the triangular brace over the engine? I'm interested to know what it does and where you purchased it?

Hi Ilya
Thats a strut brace from an NSX-T. It comes across to eliminate flex because of the targa
Its all one piece.
I just jazzed it up with some aluminum mesh that matches my side intake an wingswest sideskirts.

Paul,
Does it really help much with the top off? I would desperately like to tighten my chassis up a bit, as I love this car with the top off, especially with spring almost here in Carolina. Thanks.

Hi Gary
If you have a 95 then you should have the same thing over your engine. The only place that i know that sells an aftermarket brace is comptech. Its aluminum i believe looks cool but its expensive i think it comes with the supercharger kit.I'm not really sure what you can do to tighten the chasis.I havent had a problem with that in my car.I'm putting sway bars on my car soon that will tighten the suspension up but might make chasis flex worse

There are four different vendors shown in the FAQ.

I don't know if DC Sports still makes theirs; it's not pictured on their website at http://www.dcsports.com The other three are shown on their websites:

Thanks Paul, I mis-read your post, now I see that only the extra dressing is new. I, too, would like to add some anti-sway bars, but fear that it will add to the twisting and bump steer.

Thanks Ken for the links on braces.

I meant to say that the only nsx-t aftermarket brace that i knew of was the comptech. Are there any others out there? If they were a little more reasonably priced i would try one.Comptech wants 1300. for it!
Thanks

I would expect that engine heat would cause some water vapor condensation on the indise of both the rear cab window and hinged engine window. Also, any gasoline or oil vapors would also be deposted on these wqindow surfaces. THe net result might be more cleaning more often. Is this true or false?

Well here is my experience. Obviously the weight is a bonus, or should I say lack of weight. You will have people looking at your car even more and ask all sorts of stupid questions "is dat der da motor?". But I tinted the window black and that cures that problem. The only other thing I noticed is that the divider and rear window do get dirty, especially driving in the rain.

Okay, all this talk and I decided to remove the cover today. I ordered the DC strut bar yesterday (didn't even know it existed until last week while checking out some other cars @ NSX Modified) and it isn't listed on the site but the part # is ATC2005 MSRP is $259.95 but I ordered one from a shop in Alhambra, CA for $235 626.282.6071 and should be picking it up on next Tuesday. No I just need to order more parts to dress up the rest of the engine compartment : )
