I cant get the engine to even start to turnover. Like the battery is dead but it is not.
I suspected a electrical override problem with the security system.

Trouble shooting:
1.) I disconected the battery and reconected it a couple times
no help
2.) I have an aftermarket alarm system - that has been non functioanl for about a year. ---disconecting the battery should solve this too.

3.) I do hear something in the engine compartment (very soft click)

If you hear a clicking you may have a bad starter.

A couple of possibilities are a bad ignition switch and/or a loose wire at the starter solenoid. Re: the latter, you can easily reach the connector to see if it's loose. If so, pull it off and either replace the connector or crimp it so that it makes for a better contact on solenoid spade. There have been a number of posts ( including one of my own!) reporting this similar issue.

Have you taken the battery out of the car and had a "Load Test" done on it? It may have 12 volts, but may not have the amps to turn the starter. This is where I would start. You have to know if the battery is good to begin with before you do any more trouble shooting.
