Will my car understeer with this setup?

Tires will be BS S0-3. Car currently sits on Eibach ProKit lowering springs/stock shocks. I was told there should be no rubbing issues or TCS problems. However, any idea what the car will feel like?

My other option would be to use 17x9 with 255/40/17.

Thanks in advance for any inputs.

Your car should be very neutral. I have 215/40/17 fronts and 275/35/18 rear on 17x8 and 18x10 rims and am lowered with Bilstein shocks set at lower perch setting with stock springs. Also have Dali sway bars set at stiffest in the front and 2nd from the softest in the rear. I took my car to Thunderhill and had a blast. The car was extremely well balanced. Very neutral and if I wanted to, I could induce some oversteer with the throttle. Hope this info helps out. Oh by the way, I have S-02 Pole Position tires.

I'm a little surprised by Author Litespeeds comments. He has lots of rubber in the back plus bars set for bias towards understeer. Perhaps the extreme width in the back swings past some optimum contact patch shape and actually reduces cornering traction. I'm running SO3s in 2002 OEM sizes and have my pars biased a bit towards oversteer. It is nicely balanced for me with understeer in only very tight slow turns. However, most people are comfortable with more understeer than is generally considered optimal for the track.

There are many variables that determine the handling characteristics of the NSX. Everything else being equal (stock suspension, alignment, etc), the 215F, 265R you are asking about will have a bit more understeer than is already present in the stock setup.

But I think what Lightspeed is describing is a combination that may make it more neutral - ie, including springs, shocks, swaybars and maybe alignment into the equation.

Your driving style and what you use the car for also comes into play - autocross setups are not the same as track setups and probably even slightly different from a street setup.

This will be primarily for the street with some occasional track use (I'd say a 90/10 split since I have dedicated track tires). I prefer overall neutrality with a hint of oversteer when I open up the wheel. Again, thanks in advance for any comments/inputs.

The stagger difference of the front and rear tires would suggest understeer and the sway bar settings would indicate understeer. That's a lot of understeer.

Ponyboy - Are you talking about my 17/17 setup or Litespeeds' 17/18 setup?

Sorry, I was talking about litespeeds setup. My bad.

With your setup, you should also have a bit of understeer. If I'm not mistaken, the stock 215 front and 245 or 255 rear tends to push a little also so a 265 rear would push even more. Of course, you can tune this out with camber and pressure settings.
