up on a carfax? Let's sat about $1100 in damage? Will this show up on Carfax, thus diminishing the value of a New car?

It all depends on whether it was officially reported. If the cops were called, I bet it would. If it was a regular fender-bender that was taken care of personally or by insurance companies, then I doubt it very much.
