The only problem with my 96 nsx is that the red plastic display on the radio fell down half way (I quess the glue failed). My question is will a 92 radio fit in a 96? Thanks again for your help.

Yes it will!
However - Although I haven't gone into the radio myself, I have removed the filter on both the A/C & the clock (didn't need to do the radio since mine after-market) - I'm sure its a similar propostion to get into the radio & in your case, repair it rather than remove. You will certainly save yourself a few dollars, worth a try.
There is an excellent procedure on Science of Speed site for how to remove radio & then get inside it - http://www.scienceofspeed.com/sos_resource/DIYs/diy_01_stereoknob/default.asp - this will give you access to the area you need to repair.
Also if you're not comfortable attempting yourself. stock head is made by Alpine
