Well, I did a search and educated myself a little bit but my question I had in mind was not answered.

For anyone with a Wide Body kit: How much, besides the cost of the kit itself, did you end up spending?

I know there's a TON of hidden costs such as import fee from Japan, Prep, Paint, special mounting costs, and then on top of everything you have to buy some necessary parts to accent the wide body kit properly.

I really want to buy the Taitec rear fenders and a less expensive pair of side skirts to match up with it. Do you really need wide front fenders? any pics w/ just the rear?

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks

Gee, Brian, I thought you were just complaining in the Off-Topic forum about someone who destroyed the looks of a nice stock car with some tacked-on tacky-looking body parts...

Like I said in that other topic, there's no accounting for taste...

...but it does provide good entertainment value, as we found at our local NSXer brunch this past Sunday, when discussing the truly ug... I mean, the high-tech ;) look of the rear wing recently installed on a certain green Midwestern NSX. As several of us noted, some of the aftermarket rear wings - the ones that are painted and nicely integrated with the lines of the NSX, like those of a couple of our members - are fairly nicely done, but the ones that look like they were made in a high school shop class, well... :D

This is my budget and the price quoted from a contact in Japan. For a full 03 conversion plus front and rear wide fenders and coilovers and wheels to match it will be around USD30K plus.;)

Well, scratch the coilovers, wheels, and "full 03 conversion"

All I want is Taitec Rear wide fenders, some side skirts (wings west if thats all i can afford), and a front bumper. I don't really like the front wide fenders.

I assume $6k?

The production Cantrell Concepts wide body conversion will be premiered at NSXPO. On the cars we are preparing for NSXPO with these parts, we've found so far that these parts made with expoy resin and carbon fiber reinforcement are far superior in fit and quality compared to existing panels. I believe it's also going to be the first wide body conversion that weighs less than the factory panels that they replace. When the prices are released, they will be lower than existing parts with out the cost of importing from Japan.

Cheers,

You could get away with side skirts and quarters only. In fact, the Cantrell Studios rear quarters have a very organic flowing line that is a little less aggressive than TAITEC panels, which would work very well to increase the aggressive stance of the car while not going to far with the look. I'm not sure I'd recommend the stock fenders up front, since it may throw the balance of the car off. You may want to consider the other front fenders that will be available. These have an increased width, but no vent. Very subtly aggressive and similar to the effect of the Honda S2000 front fenders.

marga hill sideskirts; 98,000

Yokota wide front fenders; 98,000

marga hills front bumper; 120,000

marga hills bootlid spoiler; 93,000
