Why? Why? Why?

the guy is like " man I wonder why this thing will not sell its low miles and fresh paint "

spend money to make money, buy the right parts have someone repaint it correctly then he can make some money back

till he does that he has a 2 ton pile of aluminum rotting in his garage

Because they probably bought it at an insurance auction and it was cheaper to use readily available first gen parts, or if the owner is the one who did the repairs they did not make a claim with the insurance carrier for fear of premiums going up. Apparently, I've heard this car was also originally black so the color change is another negative in addition to the rebuilt title.

I think there was one guy on here who was thinking of converting a 02+ front to the pop up style. Maybe this car is for him.

Actually, it sounds like a personal choice, if you read the ad it says he has the 2005 hood and headlights to go with the sale.

Some people think the pop-ups look better:tongue:

I wouldn't buy this one specifically, but I had thought about buying an 02+ and converting it back to pop up lights and a Mode4 front bumper like I have on my 92. I just like the look. I keep all my stock parts so I could revert back to original at any time if I were to sell. I like the idea of having both options. One could always just buy a 97-01 and convert to 02+ fixed lights, but going the other way is less body work IMHO. No need to mess with the headlight bucket clearance for the headlight adjustment thing. The good thing is if you get tired of one look, but swap the parts and you get the other look.

...but then you're stuck with a car that can't put its headlights down. Remember the 02+ cars don't have any of the wiring, modules, buttons for the flippy headlights. Modifying a wiring harness is a lot more intrusive than you would think. Although "reversible" by buying a new harness nobody really does that; they just splice in wires.

That is a point, but it's something I thought in my mind I could handle. I could be wrong though. I have a feeling a lot of the wiring is still there, just not connected. If it is, it wouldn't be too hard. If not, than it is a bigger deal.

Ha, didn't think about that, too funny. That explains the head lights up in the middle of the day. As for switching back and forth for different looks that sounds like something you would do once and not want to mess with it again. Good on paper, but doubt you would be going back and forth regularly.

lol without clicking the link i was thinking 'please not let it be that red one' and BAM.... there she is still on sale for what i think is the 4th year in a row.

lol...........so its like my nsx model cars...you have to lift up the headlights with your fingernails and push them back down again.................thats so G1.......or whatever G1 means:confused::rolleyes:

hahaahahaaha so true.^^^^

Why not just go with one fixed and one flipped. That way you could enjoy the wedgy from sitting on the fence.

Switching back and forth shouldn't be too big of a deal. Every year I put my NSX back to mostly stock so I can pass my annual safety inspection. Some of the things I do is remove the HID lights, remove my NSXR wing (Not required, but makes the car look stock), put back stock rims, and remove my suspension and put back the stock springs. Takes about an hour to to do it, then an hour to to put it all back together when I get home.

Dayumm!!! Annual safety inspection ??? Glad all I have to worry about is a smog check once every two or three years ...

Btw, you can do all that in an hour??? I like to see that on YouTube

But then again, if you have to do it every year you prolly get pretty good at it:biggrin:

Not really that crazy of an idea. I can see how some people would prefer all the internal updates of a 05 but would like to keep the original NSX look.

I stopped reading after that sentence. Let me know if you ever want to sell that front bumper!

I can definitely do the suspension in about an hour or less. That part is easy since it's just removing the full KW coil over assemblies and putting in the assembled stock shocks (In my case stock springs and Bilstein Shocks). Of course I'm not aligning the car as I out the KW's back on when I get home. The front end would take a couple hours though. I've taken the front bumper off so many times when I was fitting and installing my Mode4 front bumper that I've gotten really efficient at it by myself. Two set of hands would make a huge difference, but I align it myself with some time.

Anyway, as long as the electrical part is fairly straight forward for the headlights I don't think it would be to difficult. Swapping front ends every couple if years if desired wouldn't be a big deal IMHO.
