I use my car mostly for the track. I ran into problems with brake shudder using the stock brakes, which I believe is caused by hot spots on the rotors. I switched to aftermarket rotors and pads, plus cooling ducts, to avoid these problems.
At the track, the fun is in taking the turns as fast as you can. Going down the straights isn't that big a deal, so I don't need more power. Granted, these are driving schools and lapping days; if they were competitive events where the goal were to minimize lap times, I might consider a power upgrade.
Is the NSX perhaps the most modded supercar?
No.
I don't really hear of ferrari owners modifying their cars (except maybe a TUBI exhaust).
Plenty of Ferrari owners modify their cars, according to one of the Ferrari dealers here in town.
When I shop around for NSX's, I am amazed how few of them are still in stock condition.
Actually, plenty of them are in stock condition, and plenty more are stock except for the wheels/tires. I think the enthusiasts who populate these boards overrepresent the number of modifications. There are lots of cars out there belonging to people who aren't as passionate and don't wish to spend lots of time on the Internet discussing their cars, and those owners are less likely to modify their cars. Just my O, based in part on how many cars are still stock at get-togethers like NSXPO.
