Who is the Stig?

Just finished watching Jeremy Clarkson Heaven and Hell. Keep me wonder who the Stig really is?

I think stig is slang for a pro driver hired to test or trial cars... I could be wrong though.

Perry was the one they "killled" off on that aircraft carrier?

I don't know these guys at all, but I guess they are pretty well known racing drivers.

I was dissapointed in that episode. I had hoped for more than just watching it drive by.

I am he!Stig is short for,,,stigmata Actualy Neo and I had some oversteering fun in Mark B's supercharged car coming out of turn 1 at firebird:biggrin: I think his rear tire pressures were like 48 on the ra1 Neo did'nt you have your camera in Steve's car when I was "stiging" the white loud beast at xpo?

Lets hope the Stig get a hand on it on later episode(doubt it!) - Zonda F is still the car to beat on their track presently.
Would love to see the details of that Bugatti.

McCarthy was a F1 pilot in the early nineties (Arrows I guess), He played the Black Stig that "died" on the carrier

Ben Collins is a pro racer but I do not know what he does exactely... . They could have chosen me then...

Somewhere it was also mentioned that Damon Hill might also be one of the Stigs.

I believe I've read somewhere that Perry was also a WRC driver at one point. Can anyone verify?
