Hi all,
A popular racing simulator for Windows computers is rFactor. It is a bit old but after buying the game you can download loads of cars and circuits and drive them. You can have years of fun with this game (well, simulator).. I make cars for this game (well.. simulator! ) actually, I only do the physics, a friend makes the 3d models.
We're doing a first gen NSX because it is an awesome car and it will look and drive pretty good! However the sounds are a problem. It will be a free download to anyone who owns the rFactor game, hopefully before the end of the year.
For in game sounds you need a good recording of the engine how it sounds from inside the car most importantly. GoPro cameras are great but their audio is pretty poor. Another problem with videos is the car is always accelerating and ideally we need constant RPM samples as the game will pitch them according to the revs the engine does. Also many guys have the window open on track days so you hear more wind noise than engine noise!
Is there perhaps someone with a NSX and somewhat decent recording equipment (iPhone or GoPro won't work), who is willing to help us out?
This is a preview video of some driving at Suzuka:

This is some mad oversteer driving at Goldenport:

It would be great if we can capture the sound in high fidelity as well!
Regards,
Niels
