Which wire?

I am wiring in some new gauges in the A pillar and I am having a tough time figuring out where to splice in the 'lights' wire for the gauges. I am trying to tap in down stream of the dimmer switch for the dash so that the new gauges will dim when I dim the dash. However, when I look behind the dimmer switch assembly, it is a mess - too many connectors to sort out which one goes to the dash lights.

Anyone know which wire I need?

It's been a while since I did my white face gauges ( I've sinced removed them)but if you go to the harness that feeds and snaps into the gauge cluster(drop the lower dash cover and lower dash pad) you'll see a green multi wire connector/plug that snaps into the bottm of the gauge cluster. There is a feed there that works only headlamps on and is controlled by the dash dimmer. Sorry I can't remember which one it is but a test lamp/dvm with the key off and park lights on should help you find it. Make note of which wires give you power and turn the headlamps off and test again. The one that loses power is the one you want. There is room for a tap in style connector behind the plug. Double check/test before tapping in.
