For the valve cover gaskets do we use hondabond 4 or hondabond HT. I would guess HT stands for high temp and we use that one. Anyone can CONFIRM??? I assume it's the same for the oil pan as that's the next project. THANKS!!

Jeff

i've used both with same results. someone told me that the 'ht' is a replacement for '4'.
i would be hesitant to use it in application where there is an existing rubber gasket, especially if it is new.

I used Hondabond HT on the valve cover gaskets. No leaks since I did that 18 months ago.

Larry B recommends not using Hondabond on the oil pan gasket. Apparently, the potential problem is a blob of it in the recommended areas then leaves a gap between gasket and block just beyond the application area.

When I replaced my oil pan gasket I used Hondabond HT in the recommened areas but spread it thinly so that it filled & sealed the junctions between the block, oil pump and left side cover, then cleaned off any on the flat surface gasket areas. So far mine hasn't leaked in the 18 months since replacement.

hondabond will not leak ever as long as you do your prep work- surfaces absolutely dry and oil-free.

HT for Valve Covers (in the corners only as specified) The "4" is too runny and makes a mess;).

JMO.....

+1 on the HT , I have a tube of 4 somewhere and it is still full after going through probably 20 tubes of HT!
