There are only a few battery makers. Most of the 100's of brands are made by the same few companies. Two of the biggest manufacturers are Exide and Johnson Controls.In general, Johnson Controls is regarded better than Exide. Just look on the battery's fine print-- it'll likely tell who really made it.Batteries I've noticed were made by Johnson Controls: Optima, Costco batteries, many of the cheap Walmart battaries, and many of the more expensive Sears Die Hards. All of those should be good from my experience.
