I called Acura of Pasadena, and they wanted $16 for the filters:eek:  . Is this normal? All the other filters I used for my Hondas (OEM) have been around $8...Is the NSX filter different, more specialized?

You are sooooo in luck!!!

I just happen to know that the parts department at SCA has an overstock of them!
If your interested, come to the feb meeting and you can get everything done here.
I'll need to know how many before the meeting so I make sure they save them for me (us).

Warning: There is a 'short' version of the same sized filter that can fit on a NSX.... IT IS NOT RECOMENDED!!! becasue it is only half the size, it does not meet the filter requirements for the NSX.
Buyer Beware!

Sorry for the long post!

Sounds good! How much do they usually go for? Are there any Honda filters that fit? Or is the NSX filter specific?

Sometimes theres no difference between honda and acura parts, that it to say it is the same part number and same part that is used in the design of multiple cars. I dont know if this specific filter doubles as the filter in a honda make. It is the only OEM filter that can handle the NSX, I wouldnt want to experiment if it were my NSX.
When I posted my first response SCA agreed to sell at $10 for the meeting.
(sorry cant beat $9 without getting into dealer cost)
I'm not competing with anyone on cost; we're just trying to offer everyone a cheaper option than retail.
For those “do-it-yourself” types - I'd say buy at $9
I do know that Steve (Parts manager) plans of offering deals on parts and Mike (Service manager) service deals during the meeting. (hence the $15.xx filter discount). They are listed at retail 15 and change.
I'll have more specifics of the service discount when I can talk to Mike (I kinda had emergency dental work and cant talk today):(
I'll post the service details when I get them & for those interested in getting a filter and install at the show.

I used aftermarket filters for the NSX every now and then - Encounter no problem at all.

Well theres been a change of plans.
SCA will not be selling oil filters at the meeting.
Everyone is so excited about the upcomming meeting, they have decided to thank all the owners for their participation.
They will be doing free oil changes during the meeting on a first come first serve basis.
There will be two techs working in the shop, as well as Mike Molina (NSX tech) on hand to answer questions.
Enjoy Guys! :D
(dont forget to let Steve Riter or myself know before hand!)
And Mel.... get there early!;)
