my climate control is out.. possibly due to chip failure. What should I do? retain the eluminate face and change the control ( brain) unit behind it ? is the chip inside it ? or I need to change something else too?

It sounds like you're planning to do the work yourself. If so, you'll want to get a copy of the service manual from Helm which will answer questions like this. You'll also need all the equipment to re-use the refrigerant, etc.

If you're not familiar with A/C systems, leave the diagnosis and repair to a professional.

Thanks for the reply..
I believe only the chip is out.. it matches the symptoms. I will bring it to Acura to diagnostic it when I got time. I'm asking its because someone is willing to offer me the control ( brain ) unit, so I just want to make sure is it the thing I would need to fix it..

not yet.. or maybe I should say.. CANT BE DONE.. the control buttons are dead even the mode leds.. ( I'm sure its not face unit failure since theres no ac and air blowing )
I'm almost 100% sure that its toasted..

Boston, didnt you high pressure clean your engine or front compartment recently and the problem came about soon after?.before you go pulling the head try checking your fuse box for moisture.check the service man pdf and check out the fuse for that head unit.just an easy check before you get into something major.might be all it is.hope so as its an easy fix.just trying to point out the little things first.

I had the similar problem a few months ago. For my case, it was the computer behind the control unit. A few hundred dollars for the new part.
