Are dealers the only option for services / repairs?
Are there any independant shops in toronto area (specialize in NSX)?
Thanks in advance.

Mine goes exclusively to Erin Mills Acura, which is a PITA for me to get to as it is in Oakville and Im Central East, but is worth it because of their NSX tech, Allen.

It tends to be amoung the more expensive dealerships also.

But that is where mine goes, even though the dealer itself isnt necessarily the greatest (based upon info from others).

I've had a great experience with Ken from IPC 905-791-2277 - He did my DTRLs and it was great. I also would go to Allen for warranty work, or NSX specific stuff.

I also give the nod to Ken at Import Performance Center. He can do regular maintenance stuff as well as aftermarket tasks that your dealer might balk at, ie headers, exhaust, coilovers, etc. He's cheaper then the dealership and he does good work. In my experience he's also been very honest and forthright. My only complaint with him is that it's hard to get ahold of him.

I used to go to Acura Woodbine when Alan was there, but my last visit was to Erin Mills after he transferred. I'm coming up on my next scheduled oil change, and just debating whether to make the trek to Erin Mills or just go somewhere closer. Similar to Dave's situation, Erin Mills is really out of the way for me, but the only person I trust for anything sensitive is Alan.

I imagine that even the most incompetent dealer should be able to handle a straight oil change, but I also need to have the SC oil checked and I'm thinking of redoing my coolant hoses.

Well, my nsx is new an does not need servicing as of yet but I would probably go to Acura 2000 in Brampton. The owners have NSXs hehe. Three NSXs at that dealership sometimes. I would assume their techs would know since thye probably work on the owner's nsxs also.

Import Performance Center (905-791-2277)

22 Strathern Ave, Unit 8a, Brampton

Close to Dixie+407

For alignments, I recommend Woodbridge Alignment near Hwy 7 + Pine Valley. Much cheaper than the dealership (I think around $100 vs $180), and they do alignments all day long so they are much more experienced then a dealer. The NSX in particular can be tricky to align, especially after lowering. You simply print out the specs you want to align to (eg. OEM 93) and give it to them. Their shop is dirty and looks like a dump but they do good work. They also use a pit instead of a lift, so even if your car is completely slammed, they can align it no problem.

how much would it typically cost to do an oil change on our cars?

can't remember exactly  but i remember that speedstar charges me under $100 with motul syn oil and oem honda filter...

I need some AC work done. Neither IPC nor Gilman do it. The dealers want to keep my car for 1/2 day... should I check with Alan? I'd prefer he work on it but AC is one of those things that will require both AC and NSX knowledge for our cars...

Does Speedstar do AC? I doubt any of the import aftermarket shops do... LMK any suggestions.

After my diagnosis, it looks like low refrigerant which means a possible leak somewhere... Compressor and both condensors work. AC is cool but not cold.

Id bring it to Allen Garrick. He had a bike mishalp last week and was supose to be working on my car today, but hes not able to wrench quite yet. He's got my car next week for 2 days.

Make it an NSXfest.

The owner used to own one. I bought Paul's 92 4 years ago!
Good service, but expensive.

I still see a red 95 in the lot and a black one also. So at least they still have 2.

How much would you guys expect to pay to have headers installed? Any experiences out there? I just bought a pair and will have them done here in London, unless there's some $ to be saved.

u should really check out www.speedstar.ca for header installations
btw which ones did u get and if u dont mind me asking how much did u pay for them?

I did headers and exhaust at the same time, and there were some fitment issues with the exhaust, and I believe Ken charged me around $400. Took a long time because of the exhaust.
