Where do the side vents go?

I am a newbie, and this might seem like a dumb question to most, but where do the side vents go? I assume the drivers side vent brings air to the intake, but where does the passenger side go?

I tried the search function and didnt come up with the info i was searching for.

Passenger side one has a fan to vent outside cooler air into the engine compartment. Personally I don't see how much this would help...but they musta put it on there for a reason.

I think the passenger also helps cool the alternator??

On the later cars (2000+?) they removed the fan and added an air pump for emissions. It looks like the intake air is directed to a relay box that controls that air pump

Shhhhh! Keep this very quiet. Don't spread it around. The vents actually lead to a parallel universe.
