Where can I get GruppeM Intake

Do you really want one? it'll make your head hurt. I had one for about three week and had to remove it. Probably ok if you only drive your car for 30 minutes a week or if you're wearing a helmet.

Just my opinion.

Cheers,

James.

It was loud but tolerable with a normal NSX, in the NSX-R with the single pane glass it was a pain!!!

www.gruppemusa.com if they answer or www.daliracing.com..... MJ is pretty fast and usually has it in stock.

If you cannot get a hold of the both above by the website then contact Jon Martin at Cerritos Acura and he can get a hold of Alex for you to get one.

Really I never even notice it. I even took the car on a 8 hour trip out of state to a track event and can't recall hearing it.

Is your the alloy one as used for the integras or the CF NSX one?

I had one of each but sold them both, not even installing the integra alloy one. Great filters but a little loud on a single pane rear window car.

No it isn't. Hmm I would imagine some "hum" connecting a hollow metal tube to the engine like that.

Hey that's right you have an NSX-R. So the single pane really does make a difference huh?

Had :frown: an NSX-R.

There are two "Air Cleaners" for the NSX from Gruppe M that I know off. One is the big one kevlar/cf the other is the smaller alloy cone.

AR

You sold your NSX-R:eek:

Yes I have the smaller alloy cone. Maybe that's why is doesn't bother me.

I think the added issue when I had the CF type was that I had to remove the targa engine cover in order for it to fit.

Cheers,

James.

Ahhhh okay I'll try taking mine off and see how loud it is.

I have the intake and its fine for me.....if anything the GTLW is the noise that will get to you on long drives.

I have the Carbon Kevlar one, no engine cover. It is not as loud as the stock box with uni filter at idle. Maybe equal or just a tad louder while rolling.

One of my top 3 favorite mods overall. It dress up the engine bay a lot. Without it my engine bay were just too plain boring.

Jason how loud is this thing at WOT? Can you still hear it over the exhaust and CTSC? I'm running stock box and uni... is this worth it in your opinion?

Dave,
It is slightly louder than stock box and uni filter under WOT. I hear mostly exhaust and CTSC. It is worth it in my case for the look and sound.

Does it just sound louder or is it a distinctly different tone? Wanna sell yours for half price? I am pretty sure its scratched. :D

ROFLMAO

Any performance hp/tq gain over the AIS scoop with the uni-filter and stock box? For $800 I hope you get more than just a little louder sound.
I never consider intake as an performance mod. If the #1 expectation is performance, then don't waste your money.

People spend significant amount to buy interior pieces to improve the look, those add zero performance. If you think of it that way, it is worth every penny. Even if you just want to improve the look of engine bay slightly. You will like it.

Regarding performance. Most of big NSX tuners in Japan use this Intake (Hyper Rev 2). Less restriction, heat shield to block radiant heat. NSX engine bay doesn't get too hot without engine cover. The entire engine bay is an big air box. While I will not claim there are gain, I definitely would not be surprised if there are.

Supra, S2000, 335i, etc. All of these cars have stock air box, and most of open filters outperform it.

Only if you sell me your F1 header/exhaust at half price:biggrin: I like them so much, I love to have a set just for displaying on my wall and set it aside in case if I do buy a genuine NA2 NSX-R in Japan.

Slightly different tone. Much more audibleVTEC switch point. Don't waste your time thinking about it. Just do it. I can easily picture the smile on your face. Your engine bay will look ultra sick. Worst case scenario if you don't like it, you can sell it to Perry for half price.

That would be half of half right:biggrin: Too bad I already have one. Just wish it was as cool looking as yours

can you run the kevlar/cf gruppe m with the targa engine cover on? or does it have to be removed to use this filter?
