Actually, "I" do get rewarded since my involvement as a Board member and Officer of the NSXCA puts me in contact with the powers that be at Acura here and Honda in Japan. This has enabled me to assist other members of the Club get benefits such as sponsorship monies for NSXPO and regional events, face time with Shigeru Uehara and Ted Klaus (among others), get the first rides in the new NSX at NSXPO 2015 one week before the media had access to the car, car corrals and hospitality tents set up at 6 races each year for the two seasons that Acura ran in the ALMS (at a cost of $150k per year to Acura) and other perks of being a member. To me, that is rewarding my brand loyalty because it benefits our members as a group and that is important to me. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be the longest serving Officer of the NSXCA (now in my 13th year of volunteering to do a predominantly thankless job).As for me, I went to 5 of the ALMS races as a guest of Acura. I went to LeMans in 2008 and did hot laps on the Bugatti Circuit with the European club and hung out with the CEO of Honda of Switzerland, Claude Sage, who wined and dined us not only at the track but at Auberge des Hunaudières on the Mulsanne Straight. I have spent time on multiple occasions with Shigeru Uehara (my glovebox is signed by him) both in the States and at NSX Fiesta in Japan in 2010 where I was the only person allowed to have a camera at Honda R&D and take photos of the Refresh Center. I was the only person allowed to have a camera on Transportation Research Center property and photograph our members on the autocross, skid pad and track.I do sincerely feel that my loyalty is appreciated and rewarded both in the USA and in Japan. Considering the fact that there are probably only around 6500 Gen 1 NSXs on the road in the States and the club has at any given time 10-15% of the owners as members, it has been made clear that Acura and Honda appreciate our little club and for me, that is a bonus to enjoying my track rat/daily driver 21-year-old underpowered but hand built and still a head-turning NSX.
