hi all,

i'm the new happy owner of a 98 NSX. i was hoping to get some advise on wheels. i'm looking at some ssr gt3 18x8.0 225/40/18 in front....any idea if this will fit without rubbing and any other info i need?

thanx!

Those will rub. They are too wide AND the outer diameter is too large. You are likely to run into problems with the traction control.

Get 17" in front, with 215/40-17. In the back, get 18", with 255/35-18 or 265/35-18.

If you are insisting on 18x8 in the front. You'll need 225/35-18 given you have the correct offset. In the rear you'll want 18 or 19x10-- 275/30-19's work. No TCS probelms with mine. Check out the FAQ's or do a search.

There are lots of disadvantages to using 18" front and 19" rear tires. It will definitely hurt performance, because of the heavier weight and because of the greater diameter than stock. Tire availability is very limited. And 225/35-18 front tires will almost certain rub on the fender wells.

Stick with the 215/40-17 in front...

P.S.

Don't forget to join the NSX Club of America. And block off the dates October 8-12, because this year, NSXPO 2003 will take place very close to your home. Events will take place in and around Infineon Raceway (formerly Sears Point), just north of you.

And with an AWESOME 500 hp turbo engine underfoot - performance is not a problem either as I am sure you can attest!
