Well, since the main lists have been awfully quiet and boring lately, and I need my NSX daily fix, I finally joined this forum after quietly reading it for months .......

Given the NSX-R has 17" wheels which appear to be the same 7 spoke OEM, will these be available in the polished silver (the manufacturer should be able to make them), and what brand tires and tire sizes are being used .... I know of one NSX owner who bored either the 16 or 17 rear wheel and mounted it on the front with no problem so far ....

That's because everybody who cares about all things NSX was at NSXPO 2001.

Since it's only being shown at the show now, and no one knows yet which of its features will make it to the USDM version, I doubt that anyone can answer that question at this point in time.

The offset is 5 mm different also. Did he do something to adjust for this?

The wheels on the new NSX-R prototype are not the same as the 7-spoke wheels that have been shipping on US NSXs.

Lud is right, they are nto the same. And it looks like they have much smaller offset. I would guess their offset is somewhere around 40.

Hrant,
I did the bored 16" rear to fit over the front. And they fit fine even with 245/45/16 track tires this is without any offset change.

When we (me and Dan Tobie) had the Porsche brakes installed, we ahve to add 10mm spacers and do some small mods on the wheel to make it fit. It fits Dan's car with modify fender liner. Still problem with my car since mine is much lower than his.

....... ok, but it sure looks similar .... any ideas what tires they are using since I doubt it os AO22? Anyone in Tokyo actually saw this?

....... I knew that, and I just talked to Dan last week .... but i was not going to volunteer such competitive advantage .... but Andrie I thought you were running on the OEM post 94 wheels no? Did you bore the 17 also?

Actually they look really different if you see a good picture. The problem is they are white so most pictures do not show depth well. They spoke faces are actually concave.

The prototype at the show had Bridgestones.

Ha ha ...... I have finally surfaced after being stealth for a while ..... and my post was embarassing already as I had not seen a close up of the wheel. Thanks lud for the pic. I assume they are the SO3s which look nice. Mike McCormick has these tires; he is local ....

No need to be emarassed... most of the other pictures do not show the depth well at all. For example it looks flat in the picture:
