Wheels cleaner for Volk GTC

regular car wax for the lips? Will it keep it shine?

Do you know what kind of the metal is the rest of the wheel? I was told the center is forge.

I treat my wheel the same as the paint on the NSX. Nothing too strong to protect the shine. If the wheels are kept clean on a regular basis, then car wash soap should be sufficient to keep it clean.

I wouldn't think car wax would be that good on the polished lip, but I've never tried it. I use Mother's Aluminum polish

and a few towels ever other month to remove the water spots and bring them back to full shine. Works very well.

Is there any clearcoat on the polish lips? This polish won't damage it, right?

My GTCs are clear coated. Titanium- Does the Mothers polish cut thru the clear on the wheels lip?

The centers of my wheels are clear coated, but the lips are not. I would not use anything abrasive on the lips if they are cleared. If mine were clear coated, it only took about a month or so before I got hard water spots that I could not remove with just soap and water. A little Mother's and the shine is like new.

Most rims that I've owned with polished lips had to be cleaned (just the lip) with some type of polish to retain their nice look. Double check with the person you ordered them from, but I'm 99% sure you will have to polish them a few times a year to keep the look new. Hopefully I am wrong.

Good luck

what do you guys use for the GTC (gunmetal) to keep them clean and shine?

Too keep them clean (not to clean them up) I would try a sealant such as Klasse or Poorboys wheel sealant. I hv been using the pb wheel sealant on all of my wheels and it does seem to be much more durable and resistant to heat than wax or other sealants. I have also been trying out a spray sealant because the application is much easier.
After sealing the wheels, I just use car wash shampoo instead of chemical cleaners and the dust and dirt come off very easily with the right tools. I use 3 or 4 tools to clean the outside, inside, lug nuts, tires, etc at every wash.

I use this for a quick shine.
