I got up at 6am this morning and turned on the TV. Rocky 1 just started. I got up to about Rocky 3 before we had to leave. I think Rocky 2 was pretty good because he struggles financially..and then his wife is in a coma and he just had a baby. I also love the way it just started right from the end of Rocky 1....all sequels should be like that.
BTW, I just watched a really good Stallone movie called "F.I.S.T". Surprisingly it was made around 1978 but never really advertised. It's considered one of Stallone's' best performances.

I typically enjoy movies with great soundtracks (Forrest Gump, Red Violin, Schindler's List, The Rock, etc). With that said, Rocky IV was my favorite. Too bad Apollo dies though. Oh well, at least he was in Predator next... shoot, he died in that too :frown:

The extra features on the Univesal Soldier DVD has a good interview with Dolph Lundgren. He talks about how he was picked for the the Rocky movie and there was 2 other russian guys, although Dolph is Swedish. He said he decided to say the line very slow, "I must Break You", while the other guys said it fast. he got the part.
It has to be Rocky I. It was fresh, even naive. I loved it.
For the record, I saw it in a theater when it was released. Yes, I'm that old. :wink:

Rocky 4 is an awesome movie. I must say how much I enjoyed the last one though. It was WAY better than I thought it would be.
2nd, it was a class act. I'm glad sly was able to come through and put a proper ending to the series. I couldn't ask for a better finale.
Come on guys. We all know it was the first 2 movies. That was before he became a famous boxer. It's like asking which was the best Rambo.:wink:
I agree, that was a great finale right up there with the last Rambo.
Rambo,now that's a trilogy I need to see again. Or are they 4? I can't remmber. I just remember being kids and my other friends going crazy watching the original Rambo and when he pulled out that M60 and started tearing up the town that was the best!

Rocky. The original is still the best.
I enjoyed the latest Rambo movie. I saw the first several First Bloods as a kid and i never really understood what was going on in those movies. Now Commando, that is the shiznigitity shiznit right there.
I like that one where him and Bullwinkle get into all that trouble when they go on that trip. Can't remember the name of it.:biggrin:

Well if we are going back on topic I picked Rocky I. I always go for the underdog.
I voted for R3, just because it was the end of "the trilogy". I really liked the end of that one.
To me, R4 was the last one I really liked, though the last one, RB, was okay too. There just wasn't as much drama in that one, though. It was good because it put a close on the whole thing. The one with Tommy "the machine" Gunn was WHACK!
