What's the best brand of tint?

3M, Formula One, Solar Guard or any others I didn't mention?

Thanks!

Well, I don't know much about tint, since I don't personally like tint. But from what little I do know, 3M has a lifetime warrantee. And they have authorized installers all over the place. So if the tint bubbles, fades, or peels, any of the authorized places should fix it for free. ;) I don't know the specifics of the other tints though....

The thing I pay most attention to is the change of color over time. I had 3M tint that was originally gray and over three years or so it started to turn purple. I hated that. When I got my next car, the 3M dealer said the new tint was improved but after three years, it too started to turn purple. My present cars don't have any tint on them since most of the gray tint I've seen on other cars that were at least several years old still show signs of them turning purple.

I'd like to know what brand of tint any of you have had for years that still is the same color now as it was when installed.

I've been using Llumar Centaur Titanium tint on my cars for the past ten years and I've never had any problems like you mentioned. My NSX presently has had the tint on it for almost five years and it looks exactly the same as it did the dayt it was installed.

Living here in Tucson, the sunscreen capitol of the world, has made me a big believer in window tint. The best luck I've had is with Formula 1 Premier series tint. I like the all metal Premier 35; it blocks 99% of the UV yet still allows good night vision . The dye is what turns purple in most tint and the all metal tint has no dye so it doesn't turn purple over time. BTW to all you people cacooning your cars for the winter it should be yet perfect another day for an NSX drive out here.:D

My daily driver (which stays outside 100% of the time) has Quantum film installed. It has been on my car for about 4 years now. It still looks the same. (This is the titanium/metallic type of tint.)

It had SolarGard tint on it before and it turned purple after about 2-3 years.
