As a male, I consider the movie "What Women Want" to be a horror film. This recent article from an Australian car insurance mag is less scarey. :p It examines what women look for in cars, and provides some interesting statistics (+ lies ;) ) on the number of female drivers per car model.

Informative and interesting, I hope you guys enjoy this article which is certain to stir up debate. A warning; do not let your wife or girlfriends read this... could have serious consequences. ;)

I am having trouble reading the scanned pages, but from experience I know women generally don't pay attention to cars.

That is unless the car is a convertible or if it is "cute" - then you will get comments from them.

Of course, the NSX is neither a convertible nor 'cute' - but yet it is still capable of attracting attention from females (based on my experience).

From the last page:

Top 5 attitudes to cars

Female
1) I regard my car simply as transport from A to B.
2) I'm not interested in the mechanics of my car.
3) Performance and roadholding is my number one concern.
4) I don't care what a car looks like as long as it is reliable.
5) Within limits I will buy the cheapest car in its class.

Male
1) I regard myself as a bit of a car enthusiast.
2) I would like a car that handles like a racing car.
3) I need a car that can pull a load.
4) I am interested in buying a high-performance car.
5) I prefer a car that has lots of sex appeal.

I think this list is pretty on target. Unfortunately for you Neo, this probably means a lot of cheap, bland cars are going to come your way. :(

*Sigh* why can't there be more women with car attitudes like scNSXgirl?

Not many replies, but plenty of lurkers. :(
Are people really having problems reading the scanned images?
(I did try to clean them up; unfortunately the paper was too thin)

In my experience those comments on women are generally not true.

Most of the women I know and have been associated with would fit into something like this:

1) It is important that my car looks cool
2) It is important that I do not have the same car everyone else has
3) I like fast cars
4) I don't care if I know anything about how it works
5) I am more than happy to pay good money for the car I want

And frankly, I fit into many if not all of those myself.

Jonathan: you know Californian women are different than women elsewhere. ;) I do think Southern CA people, in general, are more superficial than their Northern CA counterparts though.

True, but I am also far from being a Californian, only 8 months removed from a life in the Pacific Northwest :D

Jonathan : I would second all your points, but points #2 and #4 hold especially true.

Funny, i told a female friend of mine only last night how guys really dig women that know a bit about cars... she was stunned! But she believed me -- recently she had been talking "shop" to a guy and it really impressed him. He said to her "most girls dont want to know anything about how a car works".

That's why ladies such as AznSXgirl/NSX Service Girl/NSXgirl4j are role-models for all other women! :D

What do women want in a car?
A guy that is willing to support them so they don't have to get a job unless they want to.:D

Now pbassjo, that isn't fair. Plenty of guys want the same thing from women. Hell man, I'd pull an Anna Nicole Smith and marry a woman if she buys me exotic cars and lets me quit my daytime job to pursue a racing career. :D
