What to do...should I give up?

My CD changer stopped working one day about a month ago. First the magazine popped up once without notice. A week later it wouldn't come out at all and a CD got stuck which a pair of pliers was the only way to get it out. It won't work at all and I get a CD Error 5 code. I have taken it apart and didn't find any loose springs or anything else that looked out of line, but then again I don't know exactly what to look for.

My question is...can this be fixed easily or is there any place that can help? I know I could go with the Alpine 630 or 643, but since I already spent money on getting this one, I don't want to just throw it away. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hey batter, batter, sa-wing batter! Somebody step up. Anybody ever fixed this themselves with an E5 code or know a good place to take it.

Here are the authorized service centers around town. Maybe one of them can help. Many mfg's have a fixed fee where they fix or replace the unit and you get it back in a week or two. I did this with my Lexus CD changer and it worked great.
