What Stoptech pads are these?

Can anyone tell me what kind of pads these are? They came with my stoptech kit, wondering if it's a street or track type pad. And do replacements have to come from stoptech? Here is a photo with all the numbers on it.

Do the dust like hell? then they are likely Axxis ultras. Mine came with those in it too. Just swapped to Porterfield, MUCH better.

I have noticed an improvement in the pads that stoptech provides in their kits - less dust and less squeal.

They are packaged in stoptech boxes not axxis like before.

These don't dust a lot. Which is what made me wonder what they are.

Is the kit brand new? does it have a manufacture/packaged date on the box? Im curious too, if they are decent and cheap they may be good for 'drive home' pads. beware of the clicking with that kit. Ive had it on both the ones ive owned. It sounds like someone flipping though a stack of business cards or a wheel bearing on its way out. (not the standard slotted rotor tick)

its super annoying. I was selling some ae86 parts to a guy last month and it came out in conversation that he happened to be a Stoptech engineer, so I showed him the sound and he said that its the 2 piece floating rotor thats ticking because "the springs had heat cycled so many times." I re-torqued the rotor bolts to 6inch lbs and it didn't go away. : /

Then, after doing a few track days in a row last month the sound vanished.

Never heard any ticking. I haven't tracked them yet either. They are not that new, I bought them new but they sat in ravi's shop for a couple of years I think. I'll look to see but I don't think there was a date on any of the boxes. I will contact stoptech and see if they know what these are.

hope this is not too late, if you are going to track your car seriously, save these pads for street driving and get yourself some xp8 or xp10, you can thank me later.

Why? Do you know what these pads are?

The Pads that you have appear to be made by NAN HOANG TRAFFIC INSTRUMENT CO., LTD (NHC). This is a Taiwanese that makes brake pads, clutches, brake shoes, etc.

The model RA700 can either be a "Racing" pad or a street pad, but I can find no actual properties on these pads. My assumption is that the "/S" means "Street", but who knows...

Judging from what I've researched, this seems to be a no-name brand with questionable quality, durability and heat resistance. I would, therefore, second NSXDreamer2's recommendation of going with a set of CarboTech brake pads for the track. I have the XP10s on my Mazdaspeed3 for track days and they are fantastic.

stoptech uses taiwanese pads as thier base pad?????? or did dave really buy a set of stoptek brakes off ebay:wink:

Ok but what do I even ask for? Is there a listing for st40 calipers?

I think there are two sized calipers that are pretty close to each other. from the looks of things youve got the two-piece rotor and generally thats the bigger of the 2. To be certain just call stop-tech customer service if theres any doubt. For the record I just did my 5th track day on my porterfield pads in what I think is the same caliper you've got (non NSX though) I can't say good enough things about the R4S compound.

This is the base pad included in the street kit. It is intended for street use, where minimal dusting and noise is a priority. We use the XP10 in the front and XP8 in the rear, and try to keep these in stopck for the Stoptech caliper (which you can find on our website under brake pads).
