Hello,

On a 92 NSX with yellow Koni adjustable coil over (500lbs springs front, 400lbs rear) and Comptech sway bars at full stiffness, how/where (turns or clicks?) do I set the Koni for best handling (neutral or slight understeer) at the track? Many thanks.

- Nguyen

ps: Which direction (for the Koni) is increasing stiffness?

BTW:

Start with the swaybars first, full stiff front and rear on the Comptech bars does not sound right at all.

Here is what I have for a set up:
Dali street/track sways, front stiffest setting, rear middle setting
Koni shocks, front full stiff(counter-clockwise)then back off 1 turn, rear full stiff then back off 3/4 turn.

I have 215-40-17 front, 275-40-17 rears and the stiffer setting for the shocks balances out the too big tires on the rear of the car to make it pretty darn neutral. I would recommend softening the rear sway bar setting and go about in the middle of the range frot he shock damping, use the first session out to get the tire pressures right where you want them, second session balance the car by playing with the shock settings.

I will be out at PIR on Friday with the BMW club if you can make it, would be happy to give you a hand setting things up and making adjustments. I will be messing around a bunch, will be the first track day with RA-1s  Will have a pyrometer with me if want to use that to help with tire pressures or alignment.

Hi Dave,

When did you buy another NSX? I am not sure if I get the NSX all together by then. Although I will be out there with the race car. Thanks.

Could not keep away, bought another almost the same as my last one, but a 91 with a lot more miles, in January. Kind of fun having a less 'perfect car', easier to do mods and not feel like I am messing something up.

See you on Friday.

Dave
