91 valence with wing west spats or...
02 valence with wing west spats..???

i have a set of the WW spats but i alrdy have the 02 valence.
will it look ok if i change the spats with WW spats?

any ideas? tks in advance...

02 oem = best:biggrin:DSC03163.jpg

sorry for the confusion. i meant to say using the stock rear valence with WW spats..

I went for a much more aggressive look, I'm not a fan of the 91 OEM rear apron, its my least favorite OEM part on the NSX right after the OEM 15/16's and OEM headers. Everything else I love about an original NSX.

I think the 02 OEM is the best style for the natural body lines of the car. I may get one just to able to swap it out once in a while since its a very quick change.

But if you want to be a little more unique, there are other options. I used the WW without the parachute 91 rear lower valence, and painted flat black the lower mounting brackets that are actually part of the upper bumper, so the upper bumper was not modified in any way.

The original cut outs for the rear bumper were no longer there which also allowed me to raise the exhaust another 2" to get the tips closer to the upper bumper, thus fitting better with the rear. If you look at the rear bumper the tips end at the same point as the upper bumper but because they come out much lower at the tapered section of the diffuser It makes them look as though they are protruding much further. (it is very noticeable from the side)

I plan on making an aluminum diffuser that will be riveted to the WW spats but have not had time lately, also have been waiting to acquire more knowledge on making it functional. The diffuser I will build may either keep the exhaust fully exposed similar to the JGTC diffuser or curve up and cover the center of the exhaust and finish right under the license plate frame.

Either way you go, do it for yourself and not for the community...

Particio, how did you go about raising the exhaust and how did you attach the spats with the lower bumper removed?

I like the look!

Thanx

is there a way i can mount the WW spats with the 02 valence? or
that would look kind of off?

I just saw Todd M's car in the picture forum (LBBP). You might want to check it out as it may change your mind regarding the WW spats :)

I have the WW spats, I like them, I also painted the rear valence all red to eliminate the center black portion. The reason I went this way was that I really wanted quad tips and quad tips will not fit an 02 valence, at least not decent sized ones.

There are some other spats that look good as well, Nico's and someone elses the name escapes me right now, but when I think of it I will post it.

While that may not be everybodys cup of tea, I do like that setup, providing you have an exhaust to complement the rear. BTW what is that exhaust you have? Don't take this wrong but you have a nice rear end.

02+ rear valance with NSX-R lower diffusor

i was also thinking of the nsx-r lower diffuser.
