On the passenger side inside the car right below the glove box lid is a cover on the bottom of the dash. It just snaps off and there is a open compartment behind it. I can not identify what it is for. can someone help? Thanks Sorry no pics right now.

Are you talking about the ODBII connection point? Look at it and if it has an almost square shape connector, that's where the ODBII scanner would connect to.
That's the place where the OBD II port used to be, the port is now above the drivers side fuse box.
Thanks that what was confusing me as I have this cover and underneath it there is nothing. So they just put a plastic door over the piece to save on redesigning the dash piece? Interesting. Thanks for the help.
