I think SJS got it... On page 39 of my owners manual, there is reference to a small button "headlight motor button" that is used to raise/lower the headlights without turning them on. Its located on the lower left pod, to the left of the knob used to adjust instrument panel brightness.In addition to "freezing" weather, also useful when washing your car, and you want to clean the bugs off those headlamps.
